It’s a Telebration! Oh if only I’d thought of that but alas no it was the subject of a Fender newsletter… So as you can probably guess from the title Fender are celebrating the 60th Anniversary of one of the most iconic guitars in the history of rock ‘n roll and country and everything in between. The Telecaster is the go to guitar for many musicians because it can cover so many sonic bases and with some of the latest models such as the Jim Root Telecasterthat includes Metal.
To celebrate this amazing milestone Fender have created some special edition Custom Shop guitars limited to 60 of each being built and covering some of the classic Telecasters. Pictured above on the left is the 60th Anniversary Limited Telecaster Proto™ made from 100 year old Pine and a single piece hard rock Maple neck with no truss rod with a custom wound pickup and vintage wiring. You can see from this prototype design that the final production model was much more refined with it’s elegant headstock and control configuration but this would make a very cool addition to any collection. This is a reproduction of the original Fender prototype that was taken around to clubs for artists to try.
Above right is the 60th Anniversary Limited Broadcaster featuring a hand selected Ash body, a single piece hard rock Maple neck, vintage frets, custom wound pickups and the volume, tone and 3 way pickup switch that became standard on the Telecaster.
These are 2 of the 5 available models, like I said each model is limited to 60 guitars that are to be distributed globally.
