Maxx Music is proud to host an exclusive evening with the chicken pickin’, “rock n roll hall of fame” inductee, legendary James Burton on Thursday August 25, 7:15 at Castle Hill Tavern, Castle Hill.
Burton has been a “first choice” session and live guitarists for the biggest names in the music business. To call his resume “impressive” would be an understatement, with names like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Rick Nelson, The Monkees, John Denver, The Everly Brothers, Merle Haggard, Elvis Costello, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis being just some of his distinguished employers.
During “An Evening with James Burton”, we’ll be talking to James about his career, his playing and how it developed, his gear, his many musical accomplishments, and seeing what we can all learn from this ground-breaking player that has inspired generations.
2011 also being the 60th anniversary of Fender’s equally-legendary Telecaster, we’ll be having a look at the weapon of choice that James and many of his contemporaries have utilised. If you choose to buy one on the night, we’ll do our best to see that you get it signed by James Burton!
